Dozens were killed as a truck plowed into a crowd of people in Nice, France, on Bastille Day late Thursday evening.
Christian Estrosi, the former mayor of Nice, sent out a tweet asking people to stay home and many used the hashtag #PortesOuvertesNice to find and offer shelter.
Correction: The video incorrectly states that Christian Estrosi is the mayor of Nice. He is the former mayor of Nice and the current president of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
