A lot happened in the first season of Supergirl. There were heartfelt moments, big fights, and momentous reveals. And, of course, there are still questions waiting to be answered in the second season, which premieres on Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.

So what's a Superfan to do in the off-season? Well, we analyze every possible fan theory out there, of course. Fans of the superhero genre love to break things down and make predictions based on what we know from comic books, movies, other shows an so on, and we love to say "I told you so," when we get it right.

Let's take a look at some of the most intriguing and divisive fan theories out there before we get back to National City and our kickass heroine.

Who the heck is in the pod?

At the end of last season, we were left with a pretty intriguing mystery – who in the name of El is in the Kryptonian pod that our heroes just found? Whoever it is, Kara seemed to be pretty familiar with them.

So obviously, the internet has taken up the task of solving the case. Some of the theories are more viable than others, but they all have us excited.

1. Powergirl

Since Powergirl's backstory tells us that she is a clone of Supergirl, it would make sense for her to be introduced into the show. Of course, Powergirl originated on Earth and not Krypton, so some have doubted this theory. Many fans have debated it, and they probably will until the first episode of Season 2 airs.

One idea involves the Earth One/Earth Two aspects of The Flash/Arrow universe that Supergirl is a part of:

2. Kandor

Yep, the ENTIRE city of Kandor. That may seem a little wild, but not for a superhero story, my friends!

Kandor is a bottled city that's pretty tiny, so it could feasibly fit in the pod. And who says there's only one person in there anyway?

One Reddit user justified the seemingly ridiculous idea of a whole shrunken city being a tough narrative to tell:

Sounds pretty good to us!

3. The Third Kryptonian

This theory is pretty interesting and definitely reasonable. And fans of The Flash may recognize the name The Third Kryptonian uses on Earth.

Wells, huh? That doesn't bring up any hurtful memories. Nope, not at all.

4. Krypto the Superdog

Fans are pretty excited about the prospect of this furry Kryptonian coming to life. Although it seems a bit absurd, everyone loves Krypto and would be very interested to see his adventures.

There are many other theories floating around, from Superboy, to Superman Prime, to SuperBOY Prime, and beyond. But there's one that seems to be a little more heart-wrenching than the others:

A whole new Earth?

There's more to talk about than just who is in the pod, though. The entire reality of Kara's world could be at stake. (Probably not, but possibly.)

Since The Flash and Arrow have always lived on The CW, they've overlapped quite a bit. But this is a multiverse, and there are many realities.

Since Supergirl's world has not previously been the same as The Flash/Arrow universe, will things change completely this season? If Supergirl is moving to The CW, was she ever in The Flash/Arrowverse to begin with? If not, what does this mean for her storyline?

Now, you may scoff and mention The Flash/Supergirl crossover episode, but remember that Barry Allen can travel in between realities. Maybe he was doing just that in their duel episode.

As this Reddit user points out, it would definitely make sense given the Flashpoint storyline in Season 4 of The Flash:

Clearly, there's a lot to look forward to in Season 2 of Supergirl. Will any of these fan theories come true, like the one about Martian Manhunter? We're not sure, but we're definitely excited to find out.
