Would you be able to defend Britain, to lead the Knights of the Round Table, to pull a sword from a stone?

Warner Bros. Pictures partnered with Mashable at SXSW to give partygoers a shot at the throne by trying to liberate Excalibur for themselves. People flocked to the Mashable House and lined up for their turn to live like young Arthur by trying to pull the sword from the stone.

An innovative 270-degree camera captured all the action, encircling those in the photo booth and producing a unique video that was impossible not to share on social media.

“Oh my god, that was really fun. I like how it’s super immersive,” said Amy Sinensky, of New York.

“It’s cool when you’re in it. You really think you’re the character.”

While in the booth, many had fun playing around with their unique style of swordplay, ranging from those who went after it with an aggressive fervor, slashing Excalibur through the air once free, to those who took their time, in awe at the majestic weapon once it was in their hands.

Still others, fresh from the interactive experiences, commented on how much it felt like they were pulling the real sword from the stone.

“It’s really heavy!” said one woman.

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

The movie hits theaters May 12 watch the trailer below.
