That's the question of Civilization: Beyond Earth will make players answer. The opening cinematic for the upcoming strategy title by Firaxis Games puts a touch of humanity into Earth's uncertain future.
Players will be responsible for shaping humanity's destiny in Beyond Earth -- described as a spiritual successor to the classic strategy title Alpha Centauri -- in the franchise's foray into a futuristic setting. The game's creators say the pilgrimage is necessary after "The Great Mistake", an unexplained event, has shortened to the Earth's lifespan and caused life on the planet to be unsustainable.
