1-800-Flowers is doing major damage control after a Valentine's Day fail

On its most important holiday of the year, 1-800-Flowers wilted.

Significant others across the country purchased bouquets to be delivered this weekend for Valentine's Day, but for another year in a row, more than a few failed to arrive on time -- or turned up horrendously disfigured.

Naturally, a pitchfork mob formed on Twitter, calling out the flower delivery company for ruining their Valentine's Day and demanding full refunds. Over the past 12 hours, customer service reps have been responding to complaints, averaging about one reply every five minutes.

The arctic blast in the United States over the weekend may have been partially to blame, as many packages were left on doorsteps in subzero temperatures. But bad weather is no excuse for some of these lackluster centerpieces:

Either way, one thing is for certain: The customer service staff at 1-800-Flowers isn't getting Presidents' Day off.
