"The unexamined life is not worth living," Socrates said. "It's funny because it's true," Homer Simpson once observed.

These two philosophers, their wisdom combined, offer good reason to step back and examine the office personality -- the bundle of behaviors we all reveal during our eight, or 10, or 12 hours in the office, amusing others quietly as they see the light of truth about ourselves.

Recognition looms large to us too, in the mirror. The loud talker is at odds with the silently messaging, stone-faced uber-introverts who LOL only on the screen; the bambi is a heartbroken enthusiast who just wants everyone to be positive; the touchy-feely manager spends his days in a haze of inappropriate physical contact, while the overpromiser is absolutely convinced that yes, Beyonce can headline your team's next offsite.

This is the stuff of existential self-recognition. This video by our friends at Fast Company will make you laugh, then force you to take a deep look inside your soul.
