Leaked photos of the 13-inch MacBook Retina Pro from Chinese blog WeiPhone reveal two much-anticipated additions that Apple is expected to unveil at its Oct. 23 event in San Jose, Calif.

Like its 15-inch counterpart, the images show that the 13-inch Retina will have two Thunderbolt ports and an HDMI port; it's a setup that's capable of supporting up to four external monitors.

The 13-inch Retina will sport a 2,560×1,600 pixel display -- four times the resolution of the current 13-inch non-Retina model. The leaked pics also show that speakers are missing from the keyboard's sides, which indicate that the laptop will have a speaker system similar to the current 13-inch model.

When the 15-inch Retina debuted in June, many consumers hoped that Apple would introduce a smaller, cheaper and more portable model later on. Based on the images, it looks like some consumers may get their wish.

These latest photos come after a series of rumors about the iPad mini and a redesigned iMac.
