August presented a fairly standard crop of viral ads. There was the requisite number of game trailers (three) and sports-themed videos (eight), plus some die hard videos from previous months (three).
In other words, the usual fare floated to the top once again. The only new wrinkles were the phenomenon of athletes letting their hair down, so to speak, to engage their goofy sides. Whether it was soccer coach Joel Santana in Brazil or the Manning Bros. in the U.S., the concept appears to have taken root. Aside from that, there were the out-of-left-field hits like "Camp Gyno" and "Yalın - Keyfi Yolunda, Aşkı Sonunda," a delightful ad from Turkey.
