Curious to know how much the podcast industry has grown over the course of the last 12 months? 29,114%.

Yep, quite a bit. That figure arrives by way of Compete, a Web research metric that looked at the activity for 2007 within the PodShow network, one of the largest collections of on-demand audio and video programming on the Web. The company is managed by Adam Curry.

Now, despite the abovementioned figure’s attribution only to PodShow’s performance, the gauge is nonetheless a legitimate indicator as to the potential the podcasting medium continues to exhibit. A still very young production platform born of the new media revolution, podcasting looks to be on a very health trajectory with absolutely no signs of abatement.

And that’s great news, we say. The more the merrier.
