Don't you want the 2016 presidential candidates to come to your ironic ugly Christmas sweater party?
Among the wide array of other merchandise you can buy from candidates' campaign stores, a few presidential hopefuls are also offering "ugly" Christmas sweaters -- a staple for any holiday party-goer with a sense of humor (and a sense of civil responsibility, if you buy one of their sweaters).
Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and Republicans Ted Cruz and Ben Carson have jumped aboard the bandwagon, no doubt trying to reach 20-something voters who have popularized the idea of wearing those cringeworthy sweaters that look like something your grandma knits for the annual family photo.
Ted Cruz's sweater is the most expensive at $65, but it's a small price to pay for the privilege of walking around with Cruz's face on your torso all night.
The illustration of his head floats over the White House with the phrase "don't tread on me" printed twice on the pattern. Very subtle.
Hillary Clinton's black sweater ($60) sports her signature "H" logo surrounded by snowflakes for a more universal approach. (Not the Rosa Parks version of her logo, though.)
Ben Carson's sweater is the cheapest at only $30 -- ideal for the struggling student! The blinding red number straddles the line between Clinton's understated sweater and Cruz's over-the-top jumper. It reads "Merry Christmas," which is a political statement in itself these days -- just ask Donald Trump.
Of course, these official sweaters are actually sweatshirts, but they still have that hand-knit look to hopefully fool your friends and family.
Other candidates have yet to give in to the ugly Christmas sweater trend (time is ticking, people), but some designers took it upon themselves to create unofficial merchandise for them.
