Chevrolet's new Corvette Grand Sport is for those who want to look a lot more menacing than they really are.

It's like the people who wear fake vampire fangs casually around town. They might be the nicest person in the world; but, based upon looks alone, you wouldn't want to leave your children under their care.

Confused? Don't be. It makes sense, if you think about it.

Essentially the Corvette Grand Sport is the tire-rending, top-end Corvette Z06 -- with all the fins and vents and sporty stuff -- but with the standard Corvette Stingray engine under the hood.

Instead of a 650-horsepower supercharged V8 engine underneath its racing stripe-adorned hood, the Grand Sport has a 460-horsepower naturally aspirated (no supercharger or turbos) V8 engine.

That means you might not be able to break any lap records with the Grand Sport, like you might the Z06 ... but you'll look like you could. And that's half the fun, isn't it?

Along with the Z06 body treatment, Chevy adds blue accents on the outside as well as the inside, which only adds to its collectability, let's say.

If you want to get up close and personal to the Grand Sport right away, you'll have to make your way to the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland where it just had its global unveiling. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for it to make its North American debut at the New York Auto Show later this month.
