DigitalGlobe is a provider of high resolution satellite imagery that is used by government agencies, economic forecasting firms and of course, Google Maps. With countless breathtaking high-resolution images taken from space at their disposal, be it mountains, beaches or entire cities, who better to make the leap onto Instagram?

They launched an account on the photo sharing app earlier this month and over the past week and have been posting stunning views of some of their favorite destinations on Earth, with a perspective that few other can see. "Only DigitalGlobe has the power to take you anywhere on earth -- yesterday, today and tomorrow,” said Taner Kodanaz, an “Industry Leadership Champion” with DigitaGlobe's “Seeing a Better World” program that addresses issues of development, sustainability and human rights, said in a statement to Mashable. "With the world’s most advanced commercial satellite constellation," he added, "we have a unique vantage point that enables us to clearly observe our entire planet.”

DigitalGlobe encourages anyone to vote on their favorite location posted on their Instagram account. The last photo of their top 21 will be posted the morning of Monday, January 25th.

Take a look below for images of some of their favorite places on Earth.
