23andme officially launches today, offering you the ability (for $999) to learn all sorts of stuff about your genetic makeup. The company is well-funded, and comes with the added hype of being co-founded by the wife of Google’s Sergey Brin.
While modern science allows companies like 23andme to offer us a look into our ancestry, personal traits, and future risks of developing various diseases, doing so could open up a personal pandora’s box we’d rather not touch. With that, a somewhat personal (though anonymous) daily poll:
