What better way to get over a SantaCon hangover then by taking a morning surf at the beach -- still fully clothed in your Father Christmas gear.

A flock of Christmas enthusiasts -- 320 to be exact -- dressed up as Santa Claus and spent their day learning how to ride the waves at Sydney's Bondi Beach, setting a new Guinness World Record for "the world's biggest surf lesson," which was previously held by 250 people.

People both young and old donned the red suit and beard combo, spreading Christmas cheer at the famous beach and raising money for One Wave, a non-profit surfing community that raises awareness for mental health issues.

No word on whether the big man himself will be using surfboards for transport at any point this Christmas, but Santa's communications department may make an official statement following the release of these photos.

The successful attempt was set up by retailer RedBalloon and Let's Go Surfing, a surf school based in Bondi. See how it turned out below.
