360desktop Reorganizes Windows PCs

360desktop is another company launching at DEMO today. It's essentially a new way to organize and experience your Windows Desktop.

What it does is give you a panoramic view of your desktop, which scrolls around in a circular manner. This gives you the illusion of having more space on your desktop, as you can open applications and browser windows on your desktop, and spin around to the other side to have more space to work with. For this panoramic view of your desktop, you can select your own image for an extra touch of personalization. 360desktop also supports widgets and desktop applications, which could work out to be beneficial for publishers and users if this product gains enough traction. As widgets can be taken from the web, this makes it more appealing to both parties.

Web content can be taken and used for 360desktop, as can videos, RSS feeds, games, etc. This content is viewable independent of your web browser, and is available on your panoramic desktop. The company is hoping to push this product also as a way for advertisers to reach a larger audience, as 360widgets (designed for 360desktop) will be available when a user is offline. This is similar to Apple's assumed goals for video content on the iPod, where video ads could still play even when an iPod or an iPhone isn't connected.
