California's most severe drought in at least a century has taken a huge toll on the state's lakes, many of which are now dangerously far below their full capacity.

But the massive water loss has also uncovered an array of historical artifacts and bizarre odds and ends that would normally be hidden away in the murky depths of these lakes. These secrets of the deep range from stolen cars and missing guns to evidence that brings closure to decades-old mysteries and the remains of lost ghost towns.
