Instagram users reflected on the somber anniversary by sharing images of the 9/11 Memorial and One World Trade Center skyscraper in New York City.

The official Instagram blog observed the date with a post highlighting the #tributeinlight hashtag. The post features user photographs of the two beams of light shot into the NYC sky each year in remembrance of the victims in New York, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Penn.
