The competition is heating up on America’s Best Dance Crew: Road to the VMAs -- but even though the crews are hard at work, Kinjaz has taken some time out of their intense rehearsals to show you the secrets to one of their awesome moves.

In the second installment of Mashable's ABDC dance lessons, Kinjaz teaches you the recipe for a slick technique. Steps include running with "your legs in place," "octopus liquifying" your body, and clapping vertically.

It'll all make sense once you watch above. Though I guarantee 90% of us will never be cool enough to pull this off.

That's life.

You can watch more routines on America’s Best Dance Crew: Road to the VMAs, which airs Wednesday's at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV; get more Kinjaz news on their website.

The MTV Video Music Awards air Sunday, Aug. 30.
