ABC Makes This Season's Shows Free Online

ABC is throwing full episodes of this season's shows, including its Golden Globe-nominated Nashville, on a dedicated "Catch Up" website and on its ABC Player mobile app this winter.

Episodes of Castle, Grey's Anatomy, Happy Endings, Nashville and Neighbors can be watched now through Jan. 5. Episodes of Once Upon A Time, Revenge and Scandal are available Dec. 18 until Dec. 31.

While episodes already appear on ABC.com, ABC Player and Hulu, this holiday Catch Up initiative will make every -- not just some -- episodes viewable for free.

ABC was among the networks, which have increasingly adopted a digital-first mentality, that debuted this season's shows online ahead of their TV premieres. ABC did so with Nashville.

Fox in September posted the first-ever full TV episode on Twitter -- the season three premiere of Raising Hope. The CW did the same for medical drama Emily Owens, M.D., offering the pilot on Twitter as well as on Facebook, YouTube, Hulu, CWTV.com, iTunes and the network’s app. And Showtime posted season premieres of Dexter and Homeland on YouTube.

Nashville's Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere (pictured) recently earned Golden Globe nominations in the Best Actress in a TV Drama Series and Best Supporting Actress in a Series categories.
