Sorry, Revenge fans. It appears the show's upcoming Season 4 finale will also have to act as a series finale.

ABC on Wednesday officially pulled the plug on the Emily Van Camp-led series following a season that saw the show's ratings decline significantly. (Earlier this year, an episode even fell below a 1 rating in the key 18-49 age demographic, which was a huge red flag.)

"We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story,” executive producer Sunil Nayar told EW, who first got wind of the axing, who added that the upcoming season -- now series -- closer hits "exactly the mark it needed to end."

Revenge fans could have seen this move coming, of course. This season, the show bid farewell to two major characters -- Josh Bowman's Daniel and Madeleine Stowe's Victoria Grayson -- and the other arcs had taken major turns that hinted at possible resolution. Emily Thorne even gave up her whole Amanda Clarke impersonation.

Now we just need that Jack and Emily happy ending and all will be right with the world of Revenge. Just sayin'.

The show's last episode will air whether we like it or not on May 10.
