The device has an impressive set of specifications: two 14-inch Gorilla Glass LED-backlit LCDs, Intel Core i5 2.66 GHz CPU, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 640 GB, 5400 RPM hard drive, Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet LAN, two USB ports, HDMI output, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and the whole thing weighs 5.95 pounds.

The Iconia costs $1,200, which sounds fairly steep -- for that price you could buy two iPad 2s (and some peripherals on the side) or two Motorola Xoom tablets. However, as far as hardware capabilities go, Acer's Iconia trumps tablets and is more comparable to a MacBook Pro, which makes the price point more justifiable.

Furthermore, having a single tablet with two screens -- you can also call it a dual touchscreen laptop -- is a lot different than having a regular laptop or two tablets. Iconia's success depends how the users will react to this new type of device and its moderately high price tag.

The device is available for pre-order now on Amazon, and it will start shipping in April.
