Twitter's Funniest Women Respond to Adam Carolla's Sexist Remark

Man-advocate Adam Carolla had a few choice words to say about women in comedy. His comments appeared in a New York Post interview on Saturday.

According to the Not Taco Bell Material author and former Dancing With the Stars contestant, women aren't funny.

"The reason why you know more funny dudes than funny chicks is that dudes are funnier than chicks," Carolla told the New York Post. "If my daughter has a mediocre sense of humor, I’m just gonna tell her, 'Be a staff writer for a sitcom. Because they’ll have to hire you, they can’t really fire you, and you don’t have to produce that much. It’ll be awesome.'"

In the article, Carolla's only cites two examples of un-funny women: two castmembers on The View, a daytime talk show. Though he does give a nod to Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey and Kathy Griffin.

Twitter users picked up on the article Tuesday, and female comedians have responded accordingly. We've gathered some of the most prominent figures on Twitter in the gallery above, and they're letting Carolla have it.
