LOS ANGELES -- Sorry, Psy.

On Thursday, YouTube announced that Adele has surpassed the record set by Psy's music video “Gangnam Style." Her "Hello" is now the fastest video to reach 1 billion views on the platform.

The singer-songwriter reached the 1 billion milestone after just 87 days, handily beating Psy's record (158 days).

The news of Adele's YouTube record comes just two days after she reached another online milestone. Her Carpool Karaoke video with James Corden from The Late Late Show has become the most viral late night clip to hit the web since 2013.

"Hello" marks the 17th video to hit the billion views milestone. Others include Maroon 5's “Sugar," Major Lazer's "Lean On," Eminem's “Love The Way You Lie," LMFAO's “Party Rock” and Sia's “Chandelier."

Still, YouTube noted that 1 billion views -- while still a huge accomplishment -- has become an easier feat to accomplish in recent years as videos climb at ever faster rates. For example: In 2013, Katy Perry’s “Roar” reached 1 billion views in 487 days. In 2014, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” took 238 days to reach the same number.
