If you're a creative type, you're probably familiar with Adobe's renowned Creative Suite. The software package is nigh indispensable for graphic designers, video and sound editors and photographers, ranging from weekend amateurs at a family reunion to professional lensmen on location for a glossy magazine spread.
We say nigh indispensable because there are alternatives out there, most of them free or substantially discounted.
