If you think brands have exhausted all of Facebook's capabilities as a marketing medium, check out luxe goods brand Alfred Dunhill's Page.
The brand has used 200 still photographs of last week's Nippon Rally in Japan to create a digital flipbook. Click the photo and the action moves along, slowly but surely. Sure, the brand could just have loaded a video, but this is prettier and more notable. It's also like a very slow-moving GIF.
A rep from Dunhill's social strategy and activation agency, Holler, told Creative Review that the idea stayed true to the brand, which is about "creating incredibly well-crafted experiences." The rep also claims Dunhill is the first to try a digital flipbook on Facebook. Will it be the last?
