LONDON -- For a handful of days, 175,000 or so people pile into Worthy Farm in Somerset for Glastonbury Festival -- the largest greenfield festival in the world -- making it temporarily one of the biggest cities in England, surpassing Bath, Exeter and Oxford.

It's hard to comprehend the scale of the 900-acre site, but these aerial photos taken Thursday a day after the site opened to ticket holders give a sense of how extensive it really is. Capacity at the famous Pyramid Stage is 90,000 and out in the campsites there are approximately 430 tents per hectare with a very necessary 5,500 or so toilets scattered around the large site.

These photos from up above show the stages, regular campsites, campervans and the colourful lines of tents in the 'glamping' areas.
