AirTalkr - Instant Messenger That Runs On AIR

Remember AIR, Adobe's cross operating system environment that enables developers to combine Flash, Flex, Ajax and HTML to create rich internet applications? Well, AirTalkr is a desktop based instant messaging software that runs on AIR.

On one hand, it's pretty much your standard multi-protocol supporting IM application, with support for MSN, ICQ, GTalk, Yahoo and AIM. It has some interesting features, like tabbed conversations. AirTalkr also adds various other online service into the mix, like YouTube, Flickr, Twitter, MySpace or Friendster. It does this through AirCards, which are "profiling cards that aggregates your im buddies information". In other words, you can follow your buddies' activity on social sites directly through AirTalkr, which makes it a combination of an instant messenger and profile aggergator.

To install AirTalkr you're going to need the latest AIR runtime, which you can get here. AirTalkr itself is directly available here.

Unfortunately, after some use, we've run into some errors, which means that the "beta" sign next to AirTalkr is there for a reason. Check out the video presentation below.
