Is it still considered playing with your food if you're creating art?

Artist Al "Mode" Matthews has taken to creating animal sculptures out of fresh fruits and vegetables, calling his masterpieces "organimals."

Matthews began sculpting while working as a chalet host in the French Alps, according to the Al Mode Facebook page,

"This hobby originally came about as a means to entertain the children staying within the accommodation but soon gained notoriety throughout the resort," he writes.

The sculptures themselves are surprisingly detailed, given that they're made with just fresh produce and a carving knife. From the majestic Dolphinana to the adorable Applephant, the creations will make you look at your fruit basket in a whole new light.
