LONDON -- Alan Shearer may spend more time in the studio than on the pitch these days, but that doesn't mean he can't still enjoy a kick about now and then.

The question is, has he still got the magic?

Enter Alan Shearer's son, Will, who recently tweeted first-hand evidence of his dad's current ball-kicking ability.

Retired footballer Rob Lee was quick to question the number of attempts his former Newcastle United teammate had before he hit the target, but Will jumped to his dad's defence.

@7RobLee believe it or not it was his first attempt #lucky — will shearer (@willshearer9) July 7, 2015

Rob Lee wasn't convinced.

@willshearer9 now I know you are telling lies !!! — Rob Lee (@7RobLee) July 7, 2015

All in all, though, people were pleased to see that the former England striker's level of skill –- and his celebration -– haven't changed much.

@willshearer9 I love that Big Al is still using the same celebration! Lovely stuff.— Adam Parker (@EnglishNuclear) July 7, 2015

@willshearer9 @alanshearer Best technique best celebration.— Old Ben (@MeKenobi) July 7, 2015

(Except for Gary Lineker, who was less complimentary.)

What he's lost in technique he's gained in weight. https://t.co/eSCy4qSZ9c— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) July 7, 2015
