Slow clap, Talia Lavin.

A few nights ago, Talia appeared on Jeopardy. She had a rough few rounds, leaving her with only $600 going into Final Jeopardy -- all of which she wagered, only to realize that she didn't know the answer to the question being asked: “This song from a 1999 animated film about censorship had a word censored from its Oscar performance.”

The correct response was "Blame Canada," from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. But because Talia knew she was going to lose anyway, she decided to go out in a blaze of glory by writing, as a joke answer, "What is 'The Love Ballad of Turd Ferguson?'" (Also: "Hi mom.")

Turd Ferguson, of course, isn't just a goofy-sounding name -- it's the pseudonym used by Norm Macdonald's Burt Reynolds when he appeared on Saturday Night Live's classic "Celebrity Jeopardy" sketches. In those sketches, Reynolds is one of Alex Trebek's chief nemeses -- so forcing the real Trebek to recite his fake name on actual Jeopardy! is quite a feat. Maybe Talia ended the night in third place... but we all know she was the episode's real winner.
