It's the hangover dream of our late teenage years. Finally, McDonald's has given into logic and introduced an all-day breakfast menu.
Your inner child can sleep easy after a long night out, knowing you won't have to make a mad dash to the golden arches for a Bacon and Egg McMuffin with cheese. From Wednesday, the company will be rolling out its all-day brekkie menu across Wollongong and the Illawarra region, south of Sydney.
This may put the region on the map, with travellers from far and wide making the long run to Macca for an oily hashbrown on a Saturday evening. That is, until the Gold Coast introduces an all-day breakfast menu in August.
"We are always listening and taking on feedback from our customers and All Day Breakfast was one that people are always asking of us,” Chief Marketing Office for McDonald’s Australia Mark Lollback said in a statement.
The lengthy feast of breakfast goodness will include all the favourites -- the Bacon and Egg and Sausage and Egg McMuffins, hashbrowns and Hotcakes.
Why did it take the restaurant so long to kill off the 10:30 a.m. deadline? Apparently due to the size of their grill.
Why don’t we serve breakfast all day? Our grills just aren’t big enough for breakfast and lunch. pic.twitter.com/Oyser4lnbw— McDonald's (@McDonalds) February 23, 2015
McDonald's began to introduce the concept in U.S. stores earlier this year, to great fanfare and happy customers. It followed the lead of other fast food companies, such as Taco Bell, in trialling the longer breakfast times.
