Amazon needs a diaper change sooner than expected.

The ecommerce giant informed customers this week that it has pulled sales of the new Amazon Elements diapers barely a month and a half after it launched, according to an email first spotted by Gigaom.

"Based on early customer feedback, we are making some design improvements to the diaper," Amazon wrote in the message. "In the meantime, Amazon Elements Soft & Cozy Diapers are no longer available, and we've stopped your subscription."

A rep for Amazon confirmed the move to Amazon and said it will let customers know when "new diapers" are available.

Amazon introduced its own line of diapers and baby wipes in December as part of the company's continued effort to lure customers to sign up for Amazon Prime, the company's premium service that comes with expedited shipping and a suite of entertainment products.
