The section contains 30,000 ebooks, including 65 of the top 100 Spanish-language print bestsellers on Amazon.com, as well as 14 well-known Latin American newspapers, including El Universal and La Nacion.

Unlike Amazon's French-language ebooks, the Spanish ebooks don't require a designated Spanish-language Kindle device. Readers can instead adjust their store language preferences in the "Manage Your Kindle" section of Amazon's website to switch languages on their Kindle ereaders and apps.

The inclusion of a Spanish-language section opens up Amazon's Kindle business to a much larger, more global audience. There are some 400 million native Spanish speakers worldwide, and another 100 million who speak it as a second language, according to El Pais.
