The new offering, not-so-uniquely labeled as beta, from Amazon comes preloaded with 600 games priced from $6.99 to $9.99, and for the next week you can get full length versions of Jewel Quest 11, Build-a-lot, and The Scruffs, free of charge.

Games must be downloaded using a special Amazon download software that is currently only available to PC users (Mac users are out of luck), but the new offering does provide users with an option to test out limited trial versions before they buy.

It's hard to believe that there's an untapped market here, but Amazon's early success with Amazon MP3 may indicate that being late to the game doesn't always end in a loss.

We're curious, other than the three free downloads, will you be heading over to Amazon's new store to get your desktop casual game fix? Let us know what you think in the comments.
