Like the trailer for a really good indie movie, Amazon's Transparent might give you an existential crisis. But it's worth it.

On the show, debuting Sept. 26 on Amazon Prime Instant Video, Arrested Development's Jeffrey Tambor stars as Maura, a woman who has spent her life living as Mort, the patriarch of a seemingly normal suburban family. When Maura decides to live her life as a woman full-time, the family is stunned and secrets they've all been keeping for years begin to spill out.

Gaby Hoffman, Amy Landecker and Jay Duplass play Maura's adult children, while Judith Light plays Mort's wife.

The trailer -- set to Vance Joy's "Mess Is Mine" -- is more than promising. In fact, it may leave you wondering if Tambor could see some award season action as a result. Yes, it's that good.

All 10, half-hour episodes of the show's first season will be available on premiere day. The first episode of the show is available now to Amazon Prime members.
