On the heels of Target's nationwide rollout, American Eagle Outfitters announced Wednesday that it will begin offering Shopkick rewards at its more than 1,000 U.S. locations, including Aerie stores.

Shopkick is a loyalty rewards app for iPhone and Android devices that allow users to collect points, or "kicks," by visiting and performing certain tasks in stores.

Users get 60 kicks for walking into an American Eagle store, for instance, and can earn another 35 by scanning posters on display in each dressing room. As few as five kicks can be used to make a charitable donation; 500 kicks will get you a $2 Target gift card and 1,250 kicks will get you a $5 gift card to American Eagle.

The retailer is also apart of Visa and Shopkick's Buy and Collect program, which gives users kicks for making purchases at select retailers, including Old Navy, Toys "R" Us and Wet Seal. A $75 purchase at one of those stores will rack up 400 kicks.
