SAN DIEGO -- Ryan Murphy is seemingly accustomed to getting hit up for roles on his hit shows, but when Lady Gaga wrote him a note saying she was a fan of American Horror Story and asked if he would "consider" giving her a role, there was really only one response he could give.

"I replied [in all caps] 'Yes,'" Murphy told fans at Comic-Con during a panel for AHS and Scream Queens.

While the details of Gaga's character remain under wraps, Murphy said the role honors a request Gaga had about the gig: that her character be "evil."

"I think her part is great," he said.

He also hinted that her role "involves fashion," resulting in some bold looks.

"You want Lady Gaga to look a certain way," he said.

The Glee creator also reiterated that Gaga will not be singing on the show, adding that this season will also feature fewer musical performances than American Horror Story: Freak Show, where Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters showed off their pipes.

Speaking of Lange, Murphy remains hopeful that the actress, who will not be part of Hotel, will possibly return to the show in future seasons, should there be any.

Meanwhile, some of this season's new blood took part in the panel, including Matt Bomer, who is a regular this season after having a brief but memorable appearance on Freak Show.

The cast wasn't allowed to say too much about their roles, but did reveal their characters' names: Bomer will play Donovan, Angela Bassett will play Romona, Peters plays Mr. March, and Sarah Paulson arguable has the best character name of all time: Hypodermic Sally.

American Horror Story Hotel will premiere in October on FX.
