LOS ANGELES -- Now, witness the power of this fully operational Twitter account.
Lucasfilm came down on Amy Schumer's racy Star Wars-themed photoshoot in GQ, using the official Star Wars Twitter account to photon-torpedo the cover and spread as "inappropriate use" of its characters.
The cover shot and five photos went around the Internet at light speed this week, causing many to wonder how Lucasfilm and Disney could condone such a thing.
Turns out, they didn't: A string of tweets started Thursday in response to fans who blasted Star Wars for allowing it.
@RogueKnite Lucasfilm & Disney did not approve, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner.— Star Wars (@starwars) July 16, 2015

Nine such @-replies have been posted since, all with exactly the same language. It's not likely that Lucasfilm will take any legal action -- not that they'd stand a womp rat's chance in a trench, as the entire shoot is clearly satire.
Besides, the studio wants all the attention focused on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will make more money than any sort of legal award would, and by many multiples.
Besides, lawsuits? Hmmpf! Excitement? A Jedi craves not these things.
