Android Increases U.S. Market Share to 52 Percent [REPORT]

The two most popular mobile platforms now have a collective market share of 85.6%, leaving all other competitors in the dust.

RIM's BlackBerry OS, Microsoft's Windows Phone and Nokia's Symbian were among the minority, with a 9.5%, 3.6% and 0.8% market share, respectively.

On the manufacturing front, Samsung is still number one, netting a small market share loss, falling from 25.9% to 25.6%. The electronics giant is followed by LG, which lost 0.8% and now holds a 18.4% market share, and Apple, which grew from 14.4% to 16.3%.
