When Apple first announced its new music streaming service, the news marked the first time the Cupertino company would ever create an Android version of one of its services.

Though Apple Music officially launched on iOS and iTunes Tuesday, the Android version of the app isn't expected until later this year. But Android users aren't totally in the dark after all, as a developer has created a "very unofficial" way for people to listen to Beats 1 radio from Android devices.

The developer, Benjamin Rumble, says he found an unencrypted stream of the radio station, which he embedded on his personal website. The stream is playable on desktop versions of Safari or on browsers on Android with 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or later. The stream will also play from Safari on iPhones and iPads, though it's probably easier to listen via the Music app if you're already on an IOS device.

The stream works surprisingly well, at least for now. One of his streams had been pulled down, though the developer soon found a replacement. And, like any good developer, he also posted some more info for others on GitHub.

Rumble also said he managed to get the stream to work with a Chromecast and Android TV as well as on the TuneIn iOS app.
