Android Wear app lets you unlock doors by saying "Ok Google, open sesame"

Android Wear commands keep getting better and better.

In addition to the functions of your smartphone you can control with the Android-based wearables, one developer has found a way to allow users to wirelessly unlock their doors with only a voice command.

Dheera Venkatraman, the MIT student who came up with the "exceedingly simple" project, created an Android Wear app that uses Google Now-style "Ok Google," commands. Once set up, users simply approach the door, launch the aptly-named "Sesame" app and give the "Ok Google, open sesame," command, which unlocks their door -- no key required.

Of course, the door itself requires some modifications to make it Android Wear compatible. To enable this, Venkatramann rigged up his door with an Arduino microcontroller, which allows the lock to be activated via the accompanying app.

He describes the process, and components he used, in more detail on his website. He also posted the code for the Android Wear app on GitHub, so other developers can use it.
