If there's one thing late comedian and character actor Andy Kaufman stood for, it was definitely luxury fragrances.

... Wait, what?

According to an Oct. 7 press release, Los Angeles perfumery Xyrena will release a fragrance on the 40th anniversary of SNL called Andy Kaufman Milk & Cookies, as a tribute to Kaufman's career and legacy.

As the name suggests, the perfume smells like chocolate chip cookies, with a hint of milk and vanillas. The scent was inspired by Kaufman's Carnegie Hall performance in 1979. After the performance, Kaufman took all 2,800 audience members out for — you guessed it — milk and cookies.

So, why did Xyrena think this was a suitable remembrance for a comedian who had zero stake in the world of fragrance?

"Andy Kaufman once said, 'There's no way to describe what I do. It's just me,'" said Killian Wells, founder of Xyrena. "That quote and Andy's opposition to the societal norm has always resonated with me. As a New York native and fan I'm excited to pay homage to Andy's undeniable genius."

Surprisingly, Kaufman's relatives are totally on board with this somewhat unusual undertaking.

"It's great to have Andy brought back, in any way, even if only in a bottle," Andy's brother, Michael Kaufman, stated in the press release. "Call me crazy but I still fantasize about the day when Andy will return, performing in front of live audiences again."

The fragrance will be released at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre's east location during the Andy Kaufman Awards on Oct. 11.

Good thing Kaufman didn't take audience members out for pickles and onions after that Carnegie Hall show, eh?
