LA Angels use police helicopter to dry outfield before doubleheader

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim experienced their first home rainout since 1995 on Sunday. And in advance of Monday's doubleheader with the Red Sox, the team got a little help in its efforts to dry the outfield turf.

The help came from an unlikely source, though: A local police helicopter.

It serves as one of the more unusual ways to dry grass, but it worked. The Angels' first game with the Red Sox started without any delay at 2:05 PT Monday. The two teams will play the second game of their doubleheader at 7:05 PT.

In addition, summer-like conditions returned to southern California Monday, as evidenced by this tweet from the Angels' Twitter account:
