Bigger. Better. Angrier.

After countless spin-offs and licensed tie-ins, Angry Birds 2 is finally a real thing -- and it's coming on July 30. Rovio's got a new website for the game up, complete with a countdown and a newsletter sign-up, but the actual details of its bird-slingshotting puzzle sequel are scant.

The original Angry Birds launched in 2009, and its simple, easy-to-learn gameplay was an instant hit. Smartphone gamers had a blast launching the cartoon birds into rickety structures housing pigs that needed to be snuffed out. It was pig murder, sure, but adorable pig murder.

With no less than a dozen Angry Birds releases on a variety of different platforms, fans certainly haven't been left wanting during the six-year span since the original game released.

There have been tie-ins with Star Wars and Transformers (among others), remixes that tweak familiar gameplay with new physics models (like Angry Birds Space) and full-blown spin-offs that completely change up the gameplay, such as the Angry Birds Go! kart racer.

Angry Birds 2 marks the game's first true sequel, however. With a little more than two weeks to go until it's released -- on as-yet-unconfirmed platforms -- expect to learn more about it very soon.
