Drones are filling the skies before our eyes -- and not everyone is happy about it.

Three British technology firms — Blighter Surveillance Systems, Chess Dynamics and Enterprise Control Systems — have teamed up to create the Anti-UAV Defense System (AUDS), which is designed to stop drones that are engaging in harmful and malicious activity. Security system supplier Liteye Systems showcased the device in Las Vegas this week.

It uses a radar to scan for threats in the sky and sends the information to a camera system to help target them. Once the camera detects the target, it uses a set of radio antennas to broadcast signals that shut down the unmanned aerial vehicle.

Of course, this isn't the first time the response to drones has been a defense weapon. Boeing introduced its Compact Laser Weapons system in August, which can wipe out a drone in 15 seconds using heat energy.
