UPDATE: The App Store appears to be working again.
Some users who tried to download apps from Apple's App Store Thursday found themselves unable to do so.
Although users can still browse for apps, clicking on "download" or "update" buttons yields the message, "Cannot connect to iTunes Store."
It appears to be a global issue; Harry Hirsch in Germany said he was experiencing issues, as were colleagues at both Mashable's New York and San Francisco offices. Rene Ritchie in Montreal said he was unaffected, however.
App Store won't let me download anything... It keeps saying "cannot connect to iTunes Store" and none of the fixes I found online work. :(— Straggler (@taylorberman) November 15, 2012
Can anybody else not download apps from the app store right now?— Cody Kolodziejzyk (@codyk) November 15, 2012
@foresmac Confirmed. Doesn't work here in Germany.— Harry Hirsch (@schurkenstadt) November 15, 2012
It's been a bad day for Apple, whose market cap dipped below $500 billion Thursday morning for the first time since it passed that milestone in February.
