Wowee AppGear App Includes Toy Fighter Plane That Amplifies Reality [VIDEO]

LAS VEGAS -- Wowee rolled out AppGear, a line of iOS games that work with toy accessories. The one that caught our eye at CES 2012 was this cute little toy airplane that is part of a flight simulator game.

For $9.99, you get the plane that attaches to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Android smartphone in front of its camera. Then you download the game and you see a realistic-looking flight simulator with your toy plane in the foreground.

As you can see, it's tons of fun to roam around in your little plane, strafe evil opponents, dive bomb enemies and land on an aircraft carrier. With the free game download, you get six missions to test your shooting and flying chops.

It's remarkable the way Wowee's "Amplified Reality" blends the toy plane into the background, making the aircraft's propeller appear to be spinning, and with a quick touch, your guns are a-blazing.

Wowee told us this game will be available in April, and we think it gives you a lot of fun for the price. There are six other similar games Wowee will be rolling out when AppGear makes its debut.
