Apple skipped the part of its fall product announcement in which execs rattle off stats about the company's health and growth except for one notable number: 1.3 million.

That's the number of apps currently in the company's App Store, according to Phil Schiller, Apple's SVP of worldwide marketing. The figure comes after Apple announced 1.2 million apps in June at its Worldwide Developers Conference.

Google, meanwhile, announced it surpassed 1 million apps in Google Play in July. Microsoft claims more than 300,000 apps for Windows Phone. Last August, BlackBerry reported it had more than 120,000 apps, though more than 50,000 came from one developer.
