As high-profile Apple users like Jim Dalrymple and others having trouble figuring out how Apple Music works, the company has apparently decided to use yet another channel to put a positive spin on its new music service.

In a fairly unprecedented move, Apple has taken its promotional message to a competing software concern: Snapchat.

The company's brief Snapchat story takes us to Los Angeles, where Beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe (sporting an Apple Watch) goes behind the scenes of Beats 1 L.A. After a few scenes of Lowe DJing in the studio, he throws it to his colleague, DJ Julie Adenuga, to continue the music program in London.

In contrast to some user angst expressed due to difficulties with Apple Music, reviews of Beats 1 have been mostly positive, although some unacquainted with current terrestrial radio styles are still getting used to all the talking over the music.

Although the company generally avoids promoting its products on social media services like Twitter and Facebook (the AppStore's Twitter and Facebook accounts notwithstanding), Apple Music has been pretty active on Twitter and Facebook in recent weeks.

To experience the Snapchat story from Apple Music, simply open the Snapchat app and add "applemusic" as a friend. From there, you'll be able to swipe left to see the Snapchat story from the Apple Music team.
