Apple's ads have already gotten off to a bad start this year.
The company put out a new ad on New Year's Day touting the Do Not Disturb feature that comes with the latest version of iOS, which lets users mute incoming calls and alerts while the device is locked for a designated period of time. The problem isn't the ad itself, which is a pretty standard spot featuring the Williams sisters playing ping pong, but the timing.
The Do Not Disturb feature is usually pretty useful, but unfortunately it malfunctioned for many on New Years.
Just before Apple started airing the new ad, Apple customers started taking to Twitter to question whether anyone else was experiencing problems with the Do Not Disturb feature. It appears a date bug stopped the feature from switching off automatically at a pre-scheduled time, which meant some users didn't get notified about incoming calls and messages later in the day.
